Mastering Intake
We route your mixes through a high-fidelity physical signal chain featuring our Manley Massive Passive EQ and Shadow Hills Mastering Compressor. To protect our focused production queue and ensure zero-failure execution, we enforce strict submission guidelines.
Pre-Master Preparation
Export your unmastered mix as a 24-bit or 32-bit float WAV/AIFF at its native session sample rate. Disable all master bus limiters and clipping plugins.

Strict Technical Standards for Submission
To ensure your music receives the maximum benefit from our analog signal chain, we enforce strict audio submission guidelines. Our elite Manley and Shadow Hills hardware requires adequate dynamic headroom to organically shape your sound and provide rich, harmonic depth.
Before submitting your project to Iron Pen Studios, please ensure your mixdowns meet the following criteria:
Resolution: A minimum of 24-bit / 44.1kHz (96kHz is preferred).
Headroom: Mixes must peak at or below -3dBFS to -6dBFS.
Master Bus: Absolutely no digital limiting, clipping, or normalization on the master output.

The Process: Uncompromised Focus
At Iron Pen Studios, we operate under a disciplined zero-failure model. to ensure every master receives peak cognitive focus and "zero-failure" execution. To protect the integrity of the mastering process and maintain our international fidelity standards, we strictly enforce the following service boundaries:
Asynchronous Communication: We do not conduct "on-demand" phone consultations during active mastering sessions. All project updates, mix notes, and feedback are handled securely through our client portal to allow for uninterrupted critical listening.
Disciplined Revisions: Your premium mastering package includes one (1) comprehensive, consolidated revision cycle. Any subsequent revisions beyond this cycle will be billed at our standard premium hourly rate.
Project Timelines: Standard turnaround for a mastering project is 10 to 14 business days from the receipt of all technical assets and your 50 percent non-refundable deposit.
